Une émission de qualité, comme d’hab’. Que pouviez-vous attendre d’autre de toute façon, hein ? Je vous l’demande, moi, ma petite dame ! Alors, au programme de ce quarante-quatrième rejeton radiophonique, de l’horror reggae (parce que l’horreur, c’est mieux que le western, y’a pas de doute !) avec le Frankenstein de King Horror produit par Laurel Aitken (qui, pour le coup, contredit un peu sa réputation de producteur tout pourrave) et le Duppy Conqueror d’un Bob Marley qui frise l’extinction de voix. Dans l’horreur, vous aurez aussi droit à du Phyllis Dillon qui s’essaie à la soul de façon assez pathétique avec une complainte amoureuse chiante à mourir (mais pourquoi a-t-on passé ça ?). Bien sûr, un peu de ska au rendez-vous avec des morceaux qui, heureusement, ne durent pas plus de trois minutes maximum, sans quoi on finirait par éteindre le poste ou changer de station. Quelques bons morcifs des Maytones également, du Toots qui beugle « Alidina » et « hey hey hey » pendant trois minutes sur un riddim absolument mortel du meilleur producteur de reggae jamaïcain (vous avez reconnu Leslie Kong, hein? Non? Connard!), de l’orgue qui dégouline partout avec du Llyod Charmers en pleine séance de spiritisme, les Wailing Souls à Studio One en 1969 avec un Hot Road du tonnerre, d’excellents Jamaïcains qui se sont baptisés The Jamaicans pour faire dans l’originalité, Alton Ellis qui nous apprend que « La la la » ça veut dire « I love you », etc. Bref, presque que du tout bon ! Comme d’hab’, quoi…
